Samantha de Graaf

Samantha de Graaf studied law at the University of Utrecht and at the University of California, Berkeley. She has been practicing law since 2004 and is a partner of Griffiths Advocaten. She has a general employment law practice in which she represents both employers and employees. Samantha advises and litigates on employment law issues such as dismissal, labor circumstances, and restructurings. She teaches courses on these topics as well.

In addition, Samantha advises advertising agencies on ‘betting and gaming’ and several enterprises on data protection issues. In 2008 Samantha completed the post-doc course for employment law specialists PALA.

Dylan Griffiths

Dylan Griffiths studied law at the University of Amsterdam and New York University, and has practiced law since 1997. Griffiths is an experienced litigator. His fields of expertise are media law, intellectual property (copyright in particular) and employment law. Griffiths advises and litigates in matters regarding (freedom of) the press. In his intellectual property practice, Griffiths mainly represents the holders of copyright and similar rights, individually as well as collectively. Finally, Griffiths represents both employers and employees in cases involving termination of employment contracts and other employment issues.

He has completed the post-doc course for employment law specialists PALA and is a member of the Dutch association of employment lawyers VAAN. In addition to his law practice, Griffiths regularly teaches employment law courses, for lawyers as well as HR-professionals.

Marije van der Jagt

Marije graduated in Corporate Law from Leiden University in 2007 and obtained a postgraduate degree in UK, EU & US Copyright Law from King's College London. Her thesis on trademark registration in bad faith won an international award.

After graduating, Marije worked at a collective copyright organisation for 8 years, where she specialised further in copyright and collective management. She gained international experience as a speaker at conferences and as vice-chair of the CISAC Legal Committee (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers). She joined Griffiths Advocaten in 2016.

Marije is a member of the Dutch Association of Copyright Law.

Martijn Uijen

Studied law at the University of Amsterdam, has practiced law since 1995 and is a partner at Griffiths Advocaten. Martijn is first and foremost a seasoned transactional lawyer. He helps both multinationals and Dutch companies shape their (domestic or international) mergers and acquisitions, participations, joint ventures, commercial contracts and standard terms of business. Martijn is widely considered as one of the best contract lawyers of the Netherlands by clients and peers alike. He has been an editor of Dutch professional journal Contracteren since its inception in 1999 and frequently publishes articles on drafting techniques. In the last few years, Martijn was involved in a substantial number of notable deals. His recent work included acting for the sellers in the disposal of the Pokon fertiliser business and the sale of retail chains America Today and Sissy-Boy.

He also regularly assists in restructuring and refinancing projects (including asset finance, loan finance and structured finance), bringing over 15 years of experience as an insolvency practitioner. Finally, he has a robust litigation practice which focuses on corporate governance issues and disputes over contracts. Martijn has particular expertise in handling matters relating to power supply agreements, e-commerce, business process outsourcing, retail, company secretarial services and privacy. Luke graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2020. In addition to his bachelor's degree, he followed the minor 'Amsterdam Law Firm'. Luke successfully completed both his bachelor's and the minor 'Amsterdam law Firm' in 2019. After his bachelor, Luke followed the master Private Law.

In May 2021 Luke became a paralegal at Griffiths Advocaten. Due in part to his analytical skills and proactive approach, Luke has quickly become a valued colleague. As of March 2022, Luke is an junior associate at Griffiths Advocaten.

Luke focuses on corporate law, employment law and copyright law.
